Emergency Service for a Local Tornado-Damaged Wetumpka Church

This video is a short interview with our Key Account Manager of our SERVPRO team, Jennie Grant, following the work that our team has done in Wetumpka after tornado damages. With the First Baptist Church in Wetumpka one of the first calls that our professionals received after the disaster, our crew was ready quickly to respond to the situation and work as efficiently as possible to get their doors back open again.

Once our team was allowed through the damaged Wetumpka streets, we could gain access to this church and begin setting up the equipment and tools for effective mitigation. Much of the building was water-damaged, which made extraction a priority for some of our team members upon our arrival. Others became tasked with the installation of a temporary roof to keep further elemental damages from taking place while these mitigation tactics were underway inside.

Additionally, our SERVPRO team worked to install a temporary fence around the property to prevent intruders from taking advantage of the church in its compromised state. This fence would also serve to limit foot traffic while our technicians work tirelessly to recover the property and return it to its preloss condition, ensuring that only the appropriate personnel or approved parties were able to gain access to the church.

We understand the importance of debris removal in tornado recovery, as this allows our team to begin improving the physical condition of the property while assessing structural elements and materials for weakness that could indicate a need for replacement.
